Google Trends – Mitt is out performing his competition on the web!

April 8, 2007

Click on the search results from Google Trends here for a link showing Mitt in the lead on the web. Mitt is the blue line, McCain is the red line, and Giuliani is the orange line. Notice the tremendous surge in the number of people searching on the web for Mitt Romney in the past few months.

My borther-in-law hit the nail on the head when he said:

“Consider these stats in light of the headlines McCain and Giuliani have enjoyed in the national press over the last few years. They have both been riding the wave of popularity (with the Senate and 9/11 issues), and now, a relatively unknown candidate is blasting past them both despite their free ride on the popular express!!!”

Thanks Peter.

Mitt Romney and His Son Tagg are in Iowa

January 28, 2007

2008 candidates are pounding the pavement hard this weekend. Here’s a few of the candidates’ stops:

Rudy Giuliani spoke to local businesses at a dinner in New Hampshire. Hillary Clinton made several stops in Iowa. Pataki visited Georgetown University to deliver a speech titled “A Way Forward in Iraq.” See CNN for more details on other 2008 candidates.

Romney hit the campaign trail too. This weekend he and his son Tagg headed “to Iowa Friday to attend a luncheon with GOP activists in Waterloo, before he tours a renewable energy plant in Fairbank. The Massachusetts Republican heads to Washington, DC Saturday to deliver a keynote address at the National Review Institute’s Conservative Summit.” Click here for pictures of his visit.

By the way, did you know that Tagg Romney is going to be the L.A. Dodgers’ new marketing officer? Click here and here for more information.

First Presidential Debates Coming in April

January 15, 2007

According to www.blog.edlectromneyin2008.com and www.cnn.com on April 4 and 5, Mitt Romney and the other Presidential candidates will get their first crack at explaining to America why they should be the next President of the United States.

“CNN’s Wolf Blitzer will moderate the debates with questions coming from WMUR’s Scott Spradling and Union Leader’s John DiStaso. WMUR’s Jennifer Vaughn will be moderating questions from the audience. The debate will be televised live nationally on CNN and throughout New Hampshire on WMUR.”

“’We are thrilled to provide our viewers with the information to make the most informed decision possible when they are voting in their presidential primaries or caucusing,’ said CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein.”

“New Hampshire, a crucial proving ground for 2008 candidates, will be the first state to cast votes in the Republican and Democratic presidential primaries. Republican and Democratic candidates have been visiting the Granite State since the conclusion of the 2004 presidential election in an effort to woo these influential voters in 2008.”

“’We think it only makes sense that the state with the first-in-the-nation primary also has the first-in-the-nation presidential debate,’ said Jeff Bartlett, WMUR general manager. ‘Many candidates and potential candidates have already made numerous trips to New Hampshire, and we felt that April would be a good time for the voters here to get their first impression about how the candidates stack up against one another.’”

“Joseph W. McQuaid, president and publisher of the Union Leader, said, ‘The issues facing the next administration are as crucial as they have ever been for this country. It is not too early for the first primary state to present a forum to explore the views and the competence of serious candidates.’”

Mitt Raises $6.5 Million On First Day

January 8, 2007

According to CNN, “White House hopeful Mitt Romney and 400 of his backers raised more than $6.5 million on Monday in a … fundraising blitz that will force all Republican rivals to take notice.”

“‘They’ve come together and blown us away today, and humbled us at the same time,’ said the former Massachusetts governor as he clutched the hand of his wife, Ann. The figure dwarfed the $2 million that Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, raised and the $1 million collected by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”

Way to go Mitt!

Next Step, Help Mitt Win The Primaries!!!

January 3, 2007

Excitement for Mitt Romney’s presidential race is growing as today marks the day he filed his presidential exploratory committee papers. However, in order for Mitt to become the next president of the United States he must first win the primaries. In an effort to help facilitate his victory in the primaries, I have linked to every state I can find that has a blog supporting Mitt. Thank you to those who have linked to my Idaho blog at www.idahoansformitt.wordpress.com. If you haven’t already, it would mean a lot to me (and hopefully further Mitt’s cause) if you could add a link on your site to my blog. If any of you know of any other state blogs or websites that I have not listed please let me know (just leave a comment).
